Halo, an old chocolate lab, was found as a stray in rural Ohio and taken to the local shelter. Southwest Pennsylvania Retriever Rescue (SPARRO) works on a regular basis with this shelter and was happy to make the 300 mile drive to pick Halo up there.

Nolan is a nice, older dog who was left behind in an empty house when his former humans moved out. He was picked up by animal control where he was near the top of their list for euthanasia. He was horribly matted when he came to Saint Louis Senior Dog Project.

Mooter, a spaniel mix, spent his nine years of life on the end of a chain. Community Partnership for Pets worked with Grey Muzzle to find a home for Mooter. Saint Louis Senior Dog Project took Mooter and three other seniors.

Cabot was rescued from animal control by St. Louis Senior Dog Project, and Grey Muzzle paid for his medical care. How he ended up as a stray picked up by animal control we'll never know.

Sweet senior Molly was turned in to Southwest Pennsylvania Retriever Rescue (SPARRO) by her owners. She had a full body yeast infection, infected ears, and had lost most of her fur.

Angelica, 12 years old, was scheduled to be euthanized when a volunteer from German Shepherd Rescue of Northern California (GSRNC) brought her into their hospice care program.

The victim of horrendous conditions with a hoarder, sweet little Claire was rescued by Blind Dog Rescue Alliance. A grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization helped cover her medical expenses to give her a second chance, and Claire flourished under a loving foster mom.

It was very difficult for our Board Members to read the medical fund application for Johnny O. from Posh Pets in New York City. He was rescued by a policeman from some kids who were kicking him around in a paper bag in a parking lot.

St. Louis Senior Dog Project was at a local animal control facility when they pointed out a senior schnauzer who was likely to be euthanized soon. The Senior Dog Project gave her a chance and Grey Muzzle chipped in on medical expenses.

St. Louis Senior Dog Project was contacted by a shelter in rural Illinois for help with old Flash. The shelter won't place dogs over a certain age for adoption (a common problem for senior dogs in shelters.) He's now safe in a foster home.

He didn't even have a name when we got the picture, but this old guy is the first recipient of Grey Muzzle's grant to Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay (DRTB).

A supporter contacted us about 10-year-old Connor, who was running out of time in a shelter in Wichita, Kansas. St. Louis Senior Dog Project took him in, and Grey Muzzle paid for his medical expenses.

Kendall was an old Rottweiler who was given to a local shelter and then began to limp. Radiographs confirmed osteosarcoma, so common in the breed, and the shelter manager asked if OldDog Haven in Washington State could possibly take her since she was still so happy.

Recently we learned Winston, one of the hospice dogs in the care of Central Texas Dachshund Rescue, was diagnosed with diabetes. Winston had been in a CTDR foster home for a year before the diagnosis, so they caught it early.

Tere knew her mom needed a companion. But her mom uses a walker and she needed a dog that was not too small, so she wouldn't trip over him. Gizmo was the perfect match! It was love at first sight.
