Meet three pretty puppy mill girls—Lezlie, Ebony and Pamela Pepper after being rescued from a commercial breeding facility by the St. Louis Senior Dog Project.
Annie
Blind and abandoned, Annie, an eight-year-old Australian shepherd mix, was rescued by Muttville in San Francisco, and with help from a Grey Muzzle grant, is now settled happily with a loving owner to live out her golden years.
Val and Buddy
Val and Buddy, two lovely old Dalmatians fostered by the same mom, were both discovered in Georgia and Florida, respectively, abandoned and left to die. Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay, with help from Grey Muzzle funding, revived them and gave them a new and happier life.
Pookie
A gentlemanly Chow Chow, Pookie is a cruelty case who arrived in feeble condition at the CCSPCA in New Jersey. Thanks to funding from Grey Muzzle for treatment, he is responding nicely to TLC for his skin and fur, as well as therapy for a respiratory infection.
Angel and Bam Bam
Angel and Bam Bam, two 11-year-old Italian Greyhounds, were turned into a shelter when their former owner went into a nursing home. Shelter staff told St. Louis Senior Dog Project Rescue they were fading fast and becoming ill there.
Nicholas
Grey Muzzle supports German Shepherd Rescue and Adoptions “Moment in Time” program so that senior dogs like Nicholas can experience their final years feeling loved. Nicholas was 10 years old and had lived his whole life at the end of a chain.
Jack
Jack, a 9-year-old English Setter, was turned in to a local Humane Society in Missouri because his owners were moving somewhere they could only take two dogs. They gave up Jack, their oldest dog.
Sweets
Little senior Sweets ended up in Missouri County Animal Control during a winter onslaught of cold and snow in Missouri.
Dudley
Grey Muzzle's grant to OldDog Haven paid for the medical care for six hospice dogs in 2010. Dudley was a very old Golden Retriever who joined a group of other "old fogey" dogs at an OldDog Haven foster home.
Francesca
"Francesca Solara was not adoptable by ordinary standards when she came to us. Abandoned on the streets of a Cleveland, Ohio suburb, Independence, she was frightened, ill, and arthritic... she not only survived, she flourished. And her winsome ways charmed everyone.."
