Abe’s Winning Smile
When 11-year-old Abe—a Dachshund/Min Pin mix and a Mostly Mutts alumni—needed to return to rescue, he was welcomed with open arms.
Abe had been adopted five years earlier and was deeply loved, but when his family faced unexpected circumstances, they made the heartbreaking decision to return him. Though it wasn’t easy, they knew Abe would be safe and cared for until he found a new family. And Abe remembered his friends! He quickly settled back in, happily hanging out in offices and supervising front-desk activities like he owned the place.
There was just one thing holding him back: dental disease. Thanks to a Grey Muzzle grant, Abe received a much-needed cleaning and tooth extraction, leaving him healthier, happier, and pain-free.
Exactly one month after his return, Abe found his perfect match! His new adopter says it was love at first sight—the exact dog they’d been looking for. Now Abe is beginning his next chapter, flashing his brand-new smile and proving once again that senior dogs deserve second chances, and thanks to you, our wondeRUFFul Grey Muzzle donors, senior dogs are getting those second chances!
