When 8-year old Harland arrived at Gateway Pet Guardians, he needed more than a loving home. He was dealing with itchy skin, arthritis, an ear hematoma, and a mass that required surgery. Thanks to Grey Muzzle funding, Harland received the medical care and ongoing support he needed to feel his best.

Once he landed in a foster home, everything changed. His calm personality finally had a chance to shine outside the shelter, and it didn’t take long for the perfect family to fall in love.

Now Harland spends his days enjoying leisurely walks around the block, keeping his mom company, and settling into the quiet, comfortable retirement every senior dog deserves. His adopter says he’s “very laid back”—and honestly, after everything he’s been through, we’d say he’s earned that title.
