Bubbles was rescued from a hoarding situation involving more than 60 Shih Tzus, where years without basic grooming or veterinary care had left many of the dogs suffering.

When she arrived at Footbridge Foundation, Bubbles was no exception. Her coat was so severely matted it restricted her movement. She was living with painful eye ulcers, skin infections, dental disease, and an umbilical hernia. She needed medical care, time to heal, and the chance to finally feel safe.

Thanks to Grey Muzzle grant funding, Bubbles received the care she deserved—from a medically necessary groom and treatment for painful infections to dental care and surgery—giving her the fresh start every senior dog deserves.

But what makes Bubbles’ story unforgettable isn’t just how much she overcame.

It’s that she had every reason to withdraw from people… and instead, she kept leaning into every gentle hand.

From the very beginning, Bubbles sought out affection, welcomed every kind touch, and reminded everyone around her that trust can survive even the deepest neglect. As her pain faded, her joyful personality emerged. Today, she loves toys, extra snuggles, and simply being close to the people who love her.

Now, Bubbles has a pending adoption and is preparing for the next chapter of her life—a future filled with the comfort, dignity, and love she’s always deserved. Sometimes healing begins with medicine. Sometimes it begins with kindness. For Bubbles, it took both.
