Sophie 9 YRS
When Sophie, a 9-year-old lab mix, arrived at Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) it was discovered that she had degenerative joint disease in her hips and a benign tumor at her elbow. These types of ailments can negatively impact a senior dog’s adoption chances.
FOHA’s Senior Care Plan is supported by a Grey Muzzle Organization grant. This program provides medical care for senior dogs to make sure they are healthy for adoption. Staff were able to treat all of Sophie's ailments in time for her to find a new home!
One of FOHA’s volunteers fell in love with Sophie soon after her arrival. Although she’s an older lady, Sophie still has lots of puppy fun in her. She loves to be outside, go for short walks and play with toys. She’s very affectionate and loves to cuddle. After just a few months, their volunteer decided to make it official.
Her new human says, “Sophie is all about ear-scratches and smooches”. With your support, Sophie now has a family that loves her and the medical care she needs to maintain her joyful energy well into her golden years.
