    How Grey Muzzle Helped
    Seniors for Seniors Adoption Grant
    Organization

Gunner is a ten-year-old beagle mix who was adopted by Knoxville senior, Mr. David, through the Knox PAWS program. Mr. David previously had a long-time Knox PAWS dog who had recently passed away from cancer. After some time he decided to open up his home and heart again to a new furry companion.

Gunner was found as a stray and was looking for a comfy couch to sleep on and a human to give him lots of love and attention in his old age. Staff at the shelter said that Gunner was overlooked a lot because of his age but age did not matter to Mr. David. These two are a perfect match and it was made possible by funds from Grey Muzzle.

After adoption David noticed that Gunner had some allergy issues, specifically with his ears. Grey Muzzle funds helped Gunner receive the proper medication and treatment from the vet for his allergies and ear infection. Grey Muzzle funds also help keep Gunner up to date on flea and heart worm prevention.

Gunner is adjusting well to the simple life with Mr. David and enjoys long naps and belly rubs. Both are doing well and are enjoying each other’s company. As a senior with limited support and income, David is thankful for the Knox PAWS program which has allowed him the opportunity to be a pet owner. And Gunner is thankful for the opportunity for a loving home in his old age.
