When he first arrived at Stop the Suffering, Aiden had a long road to recovery ahead of him. This handsome, ten-year-old lab mix was heartworm positive, had terrible teeth, a suspicious mass and a double ear infection.

Aiden received bloodwork and X-rays prior to getting any extensive treatment. With all screenings showing he was strong enough for procedures (his lungs were clear and his mass was benign), Stop the Suffering sought to find this sweet boy a foster that would see him along his journey to total health. Thanks to a Grey Muzzle grant, Aiden would receive all the procedures and treatment he needed.

During his heartworm and dental treatments, Aiden used his laid back personality to work his way into the hearts of his foster mom and dad. Apparently, the family also knew that their foster commitment was likely to translate into an adoption. With his heartworm tests showing all clear, his foster parents decided to make it official.

Aiden was given a new name to go with his new life. Now Luke, his forever home reports that he and his dad are the best of friends. His dad bought a used pickup truck and the first thing he wanted to do was take Luke for a ride. He is also buying a special sectional for he and Luke to cuddle in the “man cave” because his recliner is too small. When his dad works in the front yard, Luke stands at the window and whines.

We know that Luke will be loved and spoiled for the rest of his days.
