Poodle and Pooch Rescue of Florida (PPR) rescues dogs in need with a focus on seniors and those with special needs. The PPR mission is to save as many “leftover” dogs as possible. These are dogs that were passed over by adopters and other rescue groups and usually they have a special medical need or are older, or fearful due to past abuse/neglect. PPR believes very strongly in specific adoption programs that find homes for older, harder-to-place dogs, as these dogs have so much to give and deserve to live out their golden years being spoiled and loved.
The Grey Muzzle grant allows Poodle and Pooch Rescue (PPR) to expand the Saving Seniors Program, take in more senior dogs, and give them the required medical care to best prepare them for adoption. This grant helps dogs like Rylie who came to PPR from a local shelter, in need of several surgeries. This 12-year-old girl is now loving life in her foster home, enjoying lizard hunting, getting string cheese treats, having blueberry flavored dental chews, and napping in cushy dog beds. In between naps, this sweet senior girl is looking for the forever home that she so deserves.
