Guided by our vision - a world where every senior dog thrives and no old dog dies alone and afraid - Grey Muzzle makes grants expressly for programs designed to improve the lives of at-risk senior dogs. We invite shelters, rescue groups, sanctuaries and other nonprofit organizations, whose activities include helping senior dogs, to apply for funds.

In an effort to streamline the grant process, Grey Muzzle uses an online grant application system.

Here is a copy of our application form and budget template for information only.

Grant Application

Budget Template

  • All applications must be completed through the online system - we will not accept emailed applications.
  • Please note that the Budget Template should reflect the amount you are requesting from Grey Muzzle and be consistent with your grant application. If you are requesting funds to support a portion of a larger senior dog program, please note that, including the cost of the larger program.
  • We are continuing our emphasis on results and program sustainability. Applications will need to include well-defined goals, measurable outcomes, and a plan for sustaining the senior dog program beyond the Grey Muzzle grant period. Please see the Frequently Asked Questions for more information.
  • We anticipate grants ranging from $2,500 to $15,000. Allowable costs include medical/dental care, preventive care (e.g., blood panel, blood pressure screening, urinalysis), staff time, advertising and other promotion-related costs, food, emergency assistance, and behavioral assistance.
  • Our grant application includes the criteria by which all proposals will be evaluated. Please take special note of these criteria and be sure that your application addresses each item.
