Hollis, a 7-year-old Beagle, was surrendered to Animal Rescue, Inc. when his owner's health began to fail.

Hollis had clearly been well cared for in his previous home. But he still needed updated vaccines, neuter surgery, and an extensive exam to make sure he was feeling his absolute best.

Although Hollis was generally a calm boy with a very sweet personality, he was a little too food motivated (he didn't like to share). Shelter staff decided he would do best in a home where he could be the only spoiled pup. They began working with him on basic obedience, but were struggling to find the right home.

For most of 2023, Hollis waited patiently for his new family. He enjoyed playing fetch, going for sniffy walks, and acting as shelter ambassador at many local events. As the new year came and went, Hollis was still waiting...
But everything changed in late January, when Hollis's ultimate wish came true! He was finally adopted by a loving family.

Sometimes, older dogs take a little bit longer to find the perfect home. Programs like Animal Rescue Inc.'s uses Grey Muzzle grant funds to provide ongoing medical care for senior dogs while they wait to be adopted.
