Todd
At 11 years old, Todd the beagle was left in an overnight drop pen, constantly coughing without relief due to an advanced case of heartworm disease. Despite feeling pretty crummy, Todd still had a sweet, trusting smile on his face, knowing he was in good hands. Thankfully, he was transferred to the League for Animal Welfare outside of Cincinnati, where he could immediately start the treatment he needed to save his life and mend his heart.
Todd is feeling SO much better now! Since his case of heartworms had gone untreated for so long, he still has a cough even after successful treatment. But overall, his cough is now managed, giving him comfort and a much better quality of life!
Todd's heartworm treatment and advanced diagnostics were funded by a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization, made possible by YOU! Your generosity allows shelters and rescues to say "yes!" to saving elder dogs who need more extensive medical care. We are so grateful for this lifesaving teamwork to give senior dogs a second chance at a better life, especially in their golden years!
