Swanno
William and Lucy are a senior couple who are both disabled and on a fixed income. Recently, they moved to a new pet-friendly apartment with their senior Chihuahua, Swanno. But, after paying for advance rent and the security deposit, the couple could not afford the pet deposit.
William called the Kentucky Humane Society’s (KHS) Pet Help Line, for assistance. The Pet Help Line provides free over-the-phone advice for struggling pet owners and is designed to help keep pets in their homes and out of shelters. Thanks to a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization, KHS was able to give the couple a $200 voucher to cover the pet deposit.
William, Lucy and Swanno are now settled into their new apartment and are grateful for Grey Muzzle’s support, which allowed their family stay together.
