At 11 years old, Shadow’s journey to a loving home was anything but easy. Surrendered after years as an outdoor dog, he arrived at Dorchester Paws with thinning fur, severe flea infestation, and heartworm disease. As if that wasn’t enough, he soon fell ill with a persistent cough and later struggled to walk due to arthritis.

But thanks to dedicated care and a Grey Muzzle grant, Shadow received the medical treatment he desperately needed—including heartworm treatment, pain management, and antibiotics to help him heal. Once he was feeling better, Shadow was ready for a second chance—and it didn’t take long! After seeing a Facebook post about him, a kindhearted adopter rushed in that very day to take him home. Now, Shadow is finally living the life he deserves, surrounded by love!
