Sweet Ms. Dottie lived on a chain until she was rescued by another group. When they got her, they said she had a spinal infection and was heartworm positive. They treated the infection but could not treat the heartworms. After a year, they reached out for help from other rescues and shelters, hoping that she would get adopted at a new venue. At PAWS Atlanta, we took her on in March of 2022, and we are so glad we did! She is the sweetest girl. She does not do well in a home with other dogs, but she is completely wonderful with people. In February 2023 she went into one of our foster family homes. They adore her, and she can stay with them until she gets her permanent home, but we would really like her to find that soon. We treated her for heartworms, and she has been healthy with us, but she is 11.5 years old and deserves to find her retirement home already.
