    How Grey Muzzle Helped
    Dental Expense Grant

When Misty Eyes Animal Center (in Indiana) was asked to help a tiny, half-blind, partially deaf miniature poodle, they could not refuse. This adorable 10-year-old named Raven was surrendered to a shelter lacking the resources to give her the care she needed. Understandably, she was very frightened and confused. All she did was lie down and tremble.

When Misty Eyes took her in, they noticed she had a laundry list of issues that needed to be addressed! Raven’s coat was a mess, she had cataracts, long nails and she walked with a stilted gait. Upon more comprehensive testing, it was discovered she had degenerative disc disease, arthritis and severe dental disease.

Thanks to a Grey Muzzle grant, Misty Eyes was able to provide Raven care right away. She received drops for her eyes and a comprehensive dental resulting in 24 teeth being removed!

Raven recovered remarkably well from her dental surgery and was soon enjoying mealtimes and treats once again. She perked up and began to take notice of her new surroundings. Raven transformed into a very sweet, affectionate, loving little dog.

Misty Eyes began looking for the right forever home for this senior lady, and it didn’t take too long. Raven was adopted by an amazing person and is now living the good life in her golden years.
