Little One is a ten-pound, 15-year-old black and tan Yorkshire Terrier mix on a mission to get a cuddle from anyone who comes near her, and she usually succeeds. She came to Dakin Humane Society at the end of the summer because her person had too many animals and wasn’t able to meet her needs.

The road to recovery has been a long one, but thanks to a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization, Little One has received treatment for a variety of issues including lux patellas (trick knees), skin irritations, an ear infection, hypothyroidism and anemia. She was missing her left eye upon arrival at Dakin, and an ophthalmologist has confirmed that her remaining eye is damaged. She basically only sees shadows and movements.

Despite these challenges, Little One remains upbeat and playful. She wears jaunty hats and festive leis for photos. After her tune-up, she took her place on the adoption floor where she charmed the daylights out of everyone she met, eventually finding her forever family.
