George Washingbone
George Washingbone is a lovable, ten-year-old Dachshund who arrived at Prairie Paws Animal Shelter (PPAS) as a stray. Thanks to a Grey Muzzle grant, all senior dogs get a senior-specific wellness exam and labwork upon intake. This was the case for George, and he turned out to be pretty healthy for an older gentleman. Medical exam results guide Prairie Paws in providing high quality care for senior dogs at the shelter and the best possible information on seniors’ health as they start their new lives in forever homes. Providing this information up front removes barriers to adopting a senior pet for those who might be concerned about senior dogs’ health.
George Washingbone is a sweet old man, who loves nothing more than snuggling up to you or burying his head in a blanket. His adoption fee was sponsored by a kind donor and thanks to a little extra special marketing, George found a nice, soft place to call his own in no time at all.
