Cowboy
Cowboy arrived at Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies (GRRR) as a stray, with his roughly 10-year-old arthritic frame carrying lots of extra weight. His coat was badly matted and 20 teeth were cracked or abscessed, requiring removal.
In the loving care of GRRR, he was beautifully groomed, received lots of exercise from their loyal dog-walking team, was put on a healthy diet, and received dental work and arthritis medication with the help of Grey Muzzle’s financial support of the “Golden Oldies” program. But he just couldn’t leave. At the urging of GRRR’s live-in caregiver, Mary Kenton, Cowboy has become the official elder statesman and greeter for GRRR’s Phoebe’s Place facility, where he proudly holds court.
