Tyra
Sometimes dogs that are clearly not Golden Retrievers end up at Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies (GRRR), as was the case with the adorable, tiny Border Collie mix, 12-year-old Tyra. Tyra’s much-loved mom had to move to an assisted living facility, and Tyra ended up in a shelter the day before Thanksgiving.
In addition to being bewildered and scared, she was severely dehydrated and had kidney issues. Her life turned around when she was moved to GRRR and received medical attention with help from a Grey Muzzle grant. Her puppy-like personality emerged in the care of her new foster parents, and they soon fell head over heels for the little spitfire, happily becoming “foster failures” as Tyra settled in to her forever home.
Have you planned for the possibility that you may be unable to care for your pets someday? Grey Muzzle can help you learn about planning options.
