First Coast No More Homeless PetsFunded 2020, 2024
Founded in 2002, First Coast No More Homeless Pets (FCNMHP) operates one of the country's largest spay/neuter facilities and one of the largest safety-net teaching veterinary hospitals in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. FCNMHP is not a shelter; it makes shelters stronger. Yearly, First Coast No More Homeless Pets provides over $425,000 in charitable care to help ensure that no animal will be relinquished or euthanized due to an owner’s inability to afford care. It provides services to over 74,000 dogs and cats, performs nearly 23,000 spay/neuter surgeries, distributes 120,000+ pounds of free pet food, offers professional and paraprofessional education opportunities, and serves rescue organizations throughout NE Florida and SE Georgia that work to prepare thousands of animals for adoption.
As a provider of low-cost veterinary care, FCNMHP understands the special needs senior dogs have and the financial struggles many owners face when caring for their aging companions. Funds will provide critical veterinary care to senior dogs whose families cannot afford treatment, such as Penny, whose owner came to FCNMHP in desperation to save her beloved family member whom she had adopted as a senior dog from a shelter in Miami, FL. FCNMHP veterinarians saved Penny from a badly infected growth so she and her family could spend many more days at the beach together.
