    Location

The Street Dog Coalition provides free veterinary care to people experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness. Using a One Health approach to street medicine and pop-up street clinics, they care for lives on both ends of the leash. The free medical care at their street clinics includes (and is not limited to) vaccinations, heartworm testing and prevention, treatment of minor wounds and infections, and pain management. All the care is provided by volunteer veterinarians, vet techs, and students in professional fields of study, with the support of  human-animal bond advocates.

A Grey Muzzle grant will allow the Street Dog Coalition to care for senior dogs nationwide at street clinics in over 60 cities. Funds will help dogs like Tasha, an 11-year-old terrier mix who was seen at the Sacramento clinic. She received dental care to alleviate pain due to advanced dental disease and is now living her best life with her loving family. The grant will support on-site care at clinics and additional services performed at collaborating veterinary hospitals.
