The Panhandle Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) has been a trusted part of the Okaloosa County community since 1962, providing care and protection for over 6,000 animals each year. Located in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, PAWS is dedicated to sheltering, healing, and finding forever homes for companion animals in need. Through programs like adoption, foster care, and community outreach, we work every day to build a more compassionate world—one paw at a time.

Thanks to the generous support of Grey Muzzle, our Seniors for Seniors program gives senior dogs the second chance they deserve—and brings comfort, purpose, and love to senior citizens in our community. This grant helps cover vet care, medications, and adoption fees, making it easier for seniors to welcome a furry friend into their lives. Our senior dogs also bring joy to assisted living and nursing home residents through regular visits, proving that the bond between people and pets has the power to heal and uplift all ages.
