Montreal SPCAFunded in 2021 and 2022
Founded in Montreal in 1869, the Montreal SPCA was the first animal- welfare organization in Canada. The SPCA has come a long way since then. Today, it is the largest animal-protection organization in Quebec, speaking on behalf of animals wherever there is ignorance, cruelty, exploitation or neglect.
A Grey Muzzle grant will enable the Montreal SPCA to accept three more dogs into their Palliative Foster Program. The overarching goal of the program is to provide end-of-life care for animals like Hailey who have a terminal condition but still enjoy a good quality of life. Foster families who take in a hospice dog are provided with food and medical care. Significant barriers to placing these animals in a loving home are removed by covering the cost of their care.
