    Jager is seven-year-old mixed breed dog who weighs a little over 70lbs. Jager has been at Asheville Humane Society since January 2022, and no one can really understand why. He's a calm, easy-going dog with an adorable face. The volunteers say he loves to ride in the car and he's great on walks! One of our Adoption Counselors said, “He makes me happy every time I get to interact with him!”.

    If you are looking for:
          a best friend who is always happy to see you;
          a walking buddy;
          a copilot for car rides;
          a mellow fellow;
          a dog who enjoys getting brushed; and
          a very good boy who has soft, floppy ears
          …look no further than our best boy Jager!

    He will shine as your only dog, and he has LOTS of love to give! Small children might be a bit much for Jager, but he can hang with chill teens.

    Jager is an older guy with some typical older dog issues. He has hip dysplasia in both hips, as well as some arthritis. Overall, Jager does not seem to have any weakness or difficulty walking. He is on pain medication and two joint supplements to keep him comfortable. Thanks to the generosity of the Grey Muzzle Organization, Jager will go home with an Adoption Care Package that includes two months of his pain medication and supplements, a specially fitted harness, a treat pouch and a nylabone.  Jager is just waiting….maybe for you??
