Our love affair with Milo at PAWS Atlanta goes way back. We met him years ago, when he was a young pup someone dropped him over our shelter fence one night. When we first saw him, he bounded out of darkness and we froze, unsure of what to do. We still laugh about that moment six years later. All wiggly-bottomed and excited, he plopped down, rolled onto his back, legs splayed in all directions, for a belly rub. Instantly, we fell in love with his sweetness.
Two of our staffers fostered Milo in their home, along with two other dogs, and they were a dream team together. He was perfect. So perfect, in fact, that his foster moms knew Milo would thrive in an adoptive home. He found a family and was adopted along with another puggle from PAWS Atlanta. They would be BFF's for 5+ years, until Milo's puggle companion and his beloved human father passed away within a short time of each other. Milo's mom eventually decided to adopt another young dog who, in turn, Milo did not take to. So, he is back with PAWS, and back at square one again.
Milo is grown now (almost 8) and he's a tripod (accident long ago in his home), and he's a little bewildered and saddened by his change of fortune. But, he's still perfect. He's funny, endearing, playful, up-for-anything, adores car rides and feeling his ears flapping in the wind. Even though his front leg is missing and he gets tired easily on walks, he is still wiggly-bottomed and joyful. He's a lapdog, through and through. He's just a good, good, good boy.
