Rocco
C.A.R.E.4Paws in California has helped Marcus and his eight-year-old dog Rocco several times over the years with vaccines and other basic services. Marcus is currently homeless and does the best he can for Rocco, but needs help with food and medical care from time to time. While supporting Marcus and Rocco, C.A.R.E.4Paws kept gently encouraging Marcus to neuter Rocco, but the procedure never came to fruition.
As COVID-19 started and C.A.R.E.4Paws increased their community outreach, they ran into Marcus and Rocco at a food distribution event. Marcus showed the staff and volunteers the large mass Rocco had on his testicles and they immediately set him up for an appointment in their mobile clinic for an exam and then a mass removal and neuter.
Marcus loves Rocco deeply and knew that he also had to neuter his dog during the mass removal, as the mass was caused by testicular cancer and he did not want it to return.
Rocco had his surgeries and they went well! They are now both doing great and C.A.R.E.4Paws continues their support of pet food and anything else Marcus may need for Rocco.
Thanks to a Grey Muzzle grant, powered by you, Rocco’s mass removal will hopefully prolong his life by many years.
