Riley

Riley was taken into Mid-Atlantic English Springer Spaniel Rescue (MAESSR) when his family became overwhelmed with his care. This sweet, 11-year-old boy began having seizures about a year ago. And, as with many senior Springers, he is deaf.

Thanks to a Grey Muzzle grant, Riley got the medical evaluation he needed and medication for his epilepsy. Most likely Riley will be on his seizure medication for the rest of his life. He is regulated on his medication, which needs to be tested every three months. Riley experiences a seizure approximately one to two times a month. But he doesn’t let it get him down.

Riley is still currently in foster care and looking for the perfect forever home. Riley loves people, is friendly with dogs of all ages and sizes, and even loves cats! He is comfortable at the vet and being groomed. He loves to sneak people food and would enjoy having a fenced yard to run around in. Riley is one of the most deserving dogs and any family would be blessed to have him!
