Reba
Abandoned at nine years old, Reba found herself alone at a shelter in Arizona. Grey Muzzle grantee Arizona Beagle Rescue stepped up and took this sweet girl into their care. When Reba first arrived at the rescue, she was one of the most petrified pups her foster mom had ever met. She also had significant pain in her hip. X-rays and an exam by an orthopedic specialist showed she needed surgery. Thanks to a Grey Muzzle grant, little Reba got the care she needed to repair her hip and relieve her pain.
It has taken months, but Reba has started to trust people again and learn how to just be a dog. She’s expert at riding in the car, traveling back and forth to her foster family’s cabin almost weekly. The other beagles in residence have taught her how to play with toys, bark at squirrels, and enjoy the company of their human companions.
At a recent adoption event, Reba made herself right at home, hopping up on the museum’s couch and settling right in. The event’s organizer took this picture of Reba just hanging out on a red couch that looks like it was made for her!
Healed physically and making great progress emotionally, we’re happy to report that Reba is headed to a family of her own--just in time for the holidays.
Welcome home, Reba.
