Princess
We received the following note about Princess from Greyhound Pets of America-Wisconsin. Grey Muzzle has approved funding for Princess' vet bills.
Princess was living with her racing owner since the time she was born. In September, we received a call from her owner saying Princess needed to find a new home, as they could no longer keep her. They had her since she was a puppy, raised her, trained her for racing, raced her for several years, then bred her for more puppies in her retirement. Yet at age 11, they felt it was time for her to find a new home. Princess was picked up by one of our foster families for evaluation on her health and condition. She was in relatively good shape for her age, but had never been spayed and was extremely dirty. We opted to spread out the vet work Princess would need, given her age, just to make sure we were not stressing her system too much all at once. We're happy to report Princess pulled through everything just fine, and even was able to be briefly reunited with one of her offspring at one of our events. Princess has been enjoying the company of many pet companions in her foster home, and is a joy to have around, according to her foster mom.
