Jennie
Thanks to The Grey Muzzle Organization's support, Jennie got the medical care she desperately needed for a fresh start.
Jennie was transferred to the Connecticut Humane Society (CHS) in January as part of CHS' partnership with municipal animal control agencies. One look at Jennie and it was clear she needed help. It wasn't just her arthritis--her left eye was bulging. She came in for the works--further exams and testing showed she had some worrisome masses all over her body as well as early kidney disease and bad teeth.
She was incredibly sweet and was quite serious about her toys, she just needed veterinary treatment to put her on the right path. Fast-forward a few weeks and Jennie is a new dog.
She underwent surgeries to remove her left eye and masses (caused by glaucoma and cancers), and dental work to make her mouth more comfortable. A little joint supplement and a whole lot of TLC, and Jennie was ready for a retirement home.
She didn't have long to wait--she'd caught the eye of a local family who met her while she was in foster care. As soon as medical gave the green light in February, Jennie was headed to her new home, right where she belonged!
