Gigi Boy

This is Gigi Boy! Gigi Boy is a senior Chihuahua whose owner Mark fell on tough times. 

Cumberland County SPCA (CCSPCA) was first made aware of Gigi Boy’s situation when Mark personally delivered a hand-written note to the shelter asking for help with Gigi Boy. Mark did not have internet, transportation, and only had partial access to a phone. Each phone call had to be scheduled and planned in advance, but Mark has been one of the most spot-on, caring owners the CCSPCA has ever had the pleasure of working with.  

One afternoon, he brought Gigi Boy in for an evaluation and CCSPCA quickly identified that he had some concerning issues with his ear as well as fleas that were driving the poor boy crazy. Thanks to a Grey Muzzle grant, they provided several months of flea/tick treatment immediately, giving him some comfort and Mark some peace of mind right away. Then they were able to schedule surgery for Gigi Boy to have his ears addressed.

The surgery was a success and after a period of antibiotics, Mark reports that Gigi Boy is back to his old "young" self! These two had a very strong bond that was evident; it would have been wrong for both dog and man to be separated because Mark had fallen on hard times. CCSPCA is so glad they were able to help them remain together!
