Carly 8 YRS
From surviving the streets of Detroit to becoming a beloved companion, Carly’s story is a testament to the transformative power of care and compassion. At 8 years old, she was found as a stray in Detroit, battling heartworms and facing an uncertain future. Thanks to a Grey Muzzle grant supporting Doberman Underground Rescue , she received the lifesaving care she needed, including intensive treatment for heartworms and ongoing support for her health challenges.
Carly found her perfect match in Sue, a Vietnam veteran who joined Doberman Underground’s Seniors Owning Seniors program. This initiative connects senior dogs with senior adopters, covering medical expenses to ease the financial burden. For Sue, Carly became a cherished companion and a source of comfort during challenging times.
Though Carly has now made her journey across the Rainbow Bridge, her final years were filled with love and dignity. Her story highlights the importance of programs like Grey Muzzle and Doberman Underground’s Seniors Owning Seniors in creating happy endings for senior dogs and their families. Thank you to our donors for making stories like Carly’s possible.
