     Acupuncture 101 - How this ancient modality can help our senior pets live life to the fullest! We will discuss what acupuncture is, how it works & what diseases it can treat. I will discuss what an acupuncture treatment looks like & what to expect following treatments. We will also discuss some basic acupuncture massage techniques for older pets and other general holistic tips to keep your senior pet happy & healthy.
     Dr. Sowers is originally from Winston-Salem, NC & graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. She specialized in emergency medicine for almost 10 years before making the transition to general practice & acupuncture in 2018. 

    Dr. Sowers attended the Chi Institute in 2017 and received specialized training in Animal Acupuncture, Tui-na (Chinese medical massage) & Food Therapy. She has a passion for integrative medicine & tries to incorporate natural healing into her treatment plans as often as possible, and also has a special interest in using essential oils in pets. 

    Dr. Sowers opened Kindred Souls Mobile Veterinary Services in 2018 which exclusively practices traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. She also works part time at Riversong Veterinary Clinic, an integrative clinic in Brevard, NC.  

    In her spare time, Dr. Sowers enjoys hiking, dancing, seeing live music & visiting the many art galleries in the area. She also regularly practices yoga, meditation & Qi gong.
