Since 2002, Stop the Suffering (STS) has operated transport, sponsorship, foster, and adoption programs for needy animals in rural Ohio. They assist all companion pets but focus on animals other groups overlook, including seniors, pit bull-type dogs, black dogs, and hounds. Their hearts are with senior dogs, who are the ones most often left behind.
A Grey Muzzle grant will help STS treat dental disease and find forever families for senior dogs like Leonardo who need a second chance. He came to Stop the Suffering after he and his siblings were found alone in a house after his owner passed away. At eight years old, Leonardo's tail would not stop wagging despite having rotten teeth and myriad health issues! Sweet Leonardo is looking for a retirement home and a new napping partner after receiving long-overdue care.
