The mission of People for Animals (PFA) is to prevent animal suffering through affordable essential healthcare, public policy advocacy, and community programs. PFA has been providing low-cost, high-volume spay/neuter services in New Jersey since 1983. Over the years, they have grown to become the state’s leading provider of spay/neuter services with clinics in Hillside, Robbinsville, and Millville. Their three clinics employ 13 licensed veterinarians who care for over 30,000 of the Garden State’s animal companions every year. PFA’s vision is a healthy, happy life for every animal!

The Grey Muzzle Organization’s support will go toward People for Animals' Sweet Pea Fund, which helps families who are suffering from financial hardship and facing a veterinary emergency. Through the Sweet Pea Fund, struggling families have up to one hundred percent of their pet’s life-saving medical costs covered by PFA. The Sweet Pea Fund was inspired by Sweet Pea, a sweet senior dog who was rescued by PFA and did not let her past damper her capacity for love. Her memory now provides a legacy to other animals – because all families, no matter their economic disadvantages, deserve quality vet care.

With Grey Muzzle’s aid, PFA and the Sweet Pea Fund will save more senior dogs suffering from life-threatening medical needs, such as a pyometra. Pyometra is a very serious uterine infection that is more common in older dogs and can only be treated with costly surgery. PFA frequently receives desperate calls and referrals for pyometra surgeries, and thanks to Grey Muzzle, PFA will be able to provide a second chance to even more dogs like Cuky. This little Shih Tzu suffered from a pyometra, compounded by pancreatitis, and her mother was not financially stable enough to take Cuky to a private vet practice. But thanks to PFA, Cuky received the care she needed and made a full recovery, so she could enjoy more years of joy and happiness with her family!
