North Country Pet Adoption ServicesFunded in 2024
NCPAS is a foster-based rescue located in northern New York State at the edge of the Adirondack Park. They pull dogs from Southern shelters (mainly Georgia and North Carolina) whose lives are at risk due to shelter overcrowding and regularly take in dogs from the Animal Care Centers of New York City. They have a soft spot for senior dogs and cats, hounds, and huskies. A senior hound is our kryptonite.
The Grey Muzzle grant will support NCPAS’s lifesaving partnership with the Animal Care Centers (ACC) of New York City, helping senior dogs get dental care and spay or neuter surgery, as needed. Funding will be used to help dogs like tiny 12-year-old Pugh, whose owner passed away. Now in the care of the ACC NYC in Manhattan, she is eagerly awaiting her new home.
