Helping Hands Humane SocietyFunded in 2017, 2022, and 2023
Helping Hands Humane Society is an open-admission shelter serving more than 30 counties in Northeast Kansas and admitting more than 6,000 animals annually. They provide adoptions, lost and found services, spay and neuter programs, free and reduced-cost vaccines for the public, microchipping, public education, training programs, fostering, volunteer programs, and municipal services.
With more than 100 senior dogs adopted from Helping Hands Humane Society (HHHS) annually, funds from The Grey Muzzle Organization will help prepare dogs like Astra for adoption by covering vaccines, spaying and neutering, and microchipping. The grant will also allow HHHS to reduce adoption fees for senior dogs, making it easier for adopters to choose a senior pet. Adopters can put their savings toward future medical expenses for the dog.
