Golden Years Dog SanctuaryFunded in 2025
Golden Years Dog Sanctuary, based in Sylmar, California, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to giving senior and at-risk dogs from the greater Los Angeles area the best of the rest of their lives. Since 2018, we’ve rescued over 330 dogs—many of whom were overlooked due to age or health. Some only stay with us a short while, but many thrive for months or even years in our sanctuary or forever homes. With our foster program launched in 2020, we continue to grow our reach and hope to save 80 dogs in 2025.
Thanks to the Grey Muzzle grant, 40 newly rescued senior dogs will receive an initial vet exam and bloodwork—the first step in giving them the care and comfort they deserve. This vital support lets us stretch our resources to provide further treatments like dentals, tumour removal, and medication. Sweet Cough, once at risk of euthanasia due to pneumonia, is now thriving in her foster home—all because she got the medical checkup she needed. Your support helps us create more happy endings just like hers.
