Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary (FLPS) was formed in 2012 to provide a safe haven for overlooked senior dogs while helping them find their way to a forever home. Based in Arizona, the senior pups that FLPS takes in receive medical and dental treatment, daily enrichment, and a cozy place to rest and recover, whether in the “homey” Sanctuary building or the home of one of their amazing foster families. With over 800 senior dogs saved so far, FLPS plans to save another 105 dogs in 2024, with hopes for even more in the coming years.

By collaborating with overcrowded municipal shelters and those in rural areas around the state, the Grey Muzzle grant will allow FLPS to save an additional 12 senior dogs and strengthen its network of partnering rescues throughout Arizona. Senior dogs like Addie, who was at very high risk at a county shelter (but who has yet to meet a dog, cat, or person she doesn’t adore), will be brought to FLPS where they’ll receive everything needed to find new families. FLPS is committed to helping under-resourced shelters to save the lives of even more senior dogs, not just this year, but long into the future.
