    Central Vermont Council on Aging
    Funded in 2024

Central Vermont Council on Aging (CVCOA) is an area agency on aging serving older adults in Central Vermont. Since 2023, they have supported mobile veterinary clinics, including transportation for older adults and their animal companions, and recently launched a pet food program. The mission of the pet programming is to allow older adults to access care for their senior dogs and obtain the resources needed to keep them healthy and in their homes.

Grey Muzzle grant funds will increase the number of senior dogs who receive preventative care, sick care, and dental care in the Central Vermont region. CVCOA will provide ten clinic days at locations throughout their three-county service area through a partnership with a non-profit mobile veterinary clinic serving at-risk populations. They will provide veterinary services to at least 70 senior dogs and more extensive services to at least 30 of those senior dogs. In collaboration with Meals on Wheels, they will deliver pet food to support senior dogs' nutrition. Daisy is just one happy recipient of preventative care.
