    How Grey Muzzle Helped
    Keeping Senior Pets in Homes

Lilly's owners brought her to Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS) because she wasn't acting like herself. She was lethargic and would not eat or drink. After several tests, the JHS veterinary team diagnosed Lilly with Addison's disease, a life-threatening condition for dogs when not caught in time.

Lilly's owner had recently suffered a heart attack and was unable to return to work. He was worried that a vet would tell him to put Lilly down if he couldn't pay for treatment to get her healthy.  Thankfully, JHS has a low-cost veterinary program that helped Lilly and her person. Because of their Grey Muzzle grant, Lilly got all the care and treatment she needed.

She made a full recovery and is now happy and healthy again at home with her family.
