    How Grey Muzzle Helped
    Innovative Senior Dog Program Grant

Meet Phillip, an 11-year-old pit bull mix, who had lived his entire life with a family and children. However, Phillip's family moved and didn't take him along, so he found himself alone, sick and scared at the local animal control faciity. Philip waited patiently every day for his family to return, but they never did.

Upon arrival at the shelter, Phillip was in desperate need of medical care. He was urinating blood, had a blood clot in his abdomen (which was causing internal bleeding) and was losing his hair in patches. No one had ever noticed Phillip’s discomfort. He was frantic for a moment of attention, and luckily Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge (RBARI) rescued him to be a part of their Golden Paws Program, funded in part by their Grey Muzzle grant.

Phillip was hospitalized and received the intensive, life-saving care that he needed to survive and find a family that deserves the unconditional love that he gives to everyone he meets. Phillip desperately needs a foster or forever home, so he doesn’t have to be alone any more. He's a happy go lucky boy who never met a stranger he didn't like, and smiles and wags his tail at everyone he meets! He lived with older kids and would love to be part of a family again. Phillip prefers to be your only pet and isn't a fan of other doggies or kitties - he wants all the human attention for himself!

Due to his medical issues, RBARI isn't sure how long he has left, but he deserves a loving hospice home to enjoy each day to its fullest.
