Goldie is a wonderful and loving ten-year-old Coonhound mix who ended up in a rural shelter in southern Ohio. She was so good and so quiet that those who ran the shelter seemed to forget she was there. After several months, our grantee Stop the Suffering saw her posted by the shelter as “in need." Her brown eyes showed years of sadness, but her core showed so much strength and happiness. Stop the Suffering was elated to be able to pull her from the shelter, thanks to their Grey Muzzle grant, and put her straight into a loving foster home.

Goldie presented with several minor veterinary issues, including dental disease requiring a teeth cleaning and extractions, a broken tail and old injuries revealed via X-Rays. Fortunately, all of her ailments were easy to tend to and did not seem to be causing her any severe problems.

After a short time, Goldie's foster mom found her the perfect home--a previous Stop the Suffering adopter of a senior dog. This potential adopter's sweet senior had crossed the rainbow bridge less than a year ago and once she saw Goldie's picture and read her bio, she knew she found her next companion! Goldie goes to work every day with her mom, Mary, to greet customers and when she's not working in customer service at her mom's company, she stays comfortable resting with her feline sibling. It was a match made in heaven!

Thanks for making so many happy tails come true for senior dogs just like Goldie.
